Rishab Jain today announced the launch of Claisen, an AI driven GI health startup focused on practical, at home care for heartburn and GERD, bloating, and gas. Claisen pairs a short, clinician informed intake with stepwise routines and right sized product kits so people can stop guessing and start following a plan that fits real life.
Rishab Jain is a Harvard neuroscience student and technologist, founder and CEO of Claisen, with prior award winning work applying machine learning to pancreatic radiotherapy and codon optimisation for recombinant vaccines (ICOR). Rishab Jain is best known for early work applying machine learning to difficult clinical problems and was awarded America's Top Young Scientist and was featured by TIME Magazine as TIME’s 25 Most Influential Teens. He is affiliated with research labs at Harvard and Massachusetts General Hospital.

Why Rishab founded Claisen
Digestive problems are among the top drivers of healthcare visits in the United States. Gastrointestinal complaints account for nearly 10% of all primary care consultations (NIH). Many patients continue to face overprescription, lack of adherence, and self diagnosis. Aditya Jain, Claisen’s Chief Medical Officer and an MD Candidate at Harvard Medical School, says that "Claisen was born because people deserve better than guesswork".
How Claisen works
A three minute intake quiz maps symptom patterns, triggers, and lifestyle factors such as sleep, diet, and travel. This personalises the medicines and supplements that Claisen will ship monthly to patients in the United States. This encodes an understanding of whether the patient is facing heartburn, bloating, or gas.
Users receive daily and nightly stepwise plans such as meal spacing, head of bed elevation, and fibre pacing paired with explanations since gut health extends beyond just medication. Lightweight check ins help users adapt without starting over and reinforce adherence.
From researcher to entrepreneur
Jain has long been recognised for bridging science and patient impact. His pancreas tracking AI caught international media attention, while his ICOR codon optimisation tool became a published software package in BMC Bioinformatics.
